The Art-houses I produce combine my skills as a silversmith and artist using traditional techniques to produce one of a kind art pieces that celebrate my passion for Gothic literature and jewellery. Therefore the quote by Edgar Allan Poe seems quite fitting.

The first house I created in 2021 for the final degree piece was based on my favourite Shakespeare play ‘Macbeth’ and you would be right to comment that it isn’t exactly a Gothic piece of literature. But with the mix of death, witches and ghosts you must admit, it’s one of Shakespeare’s more sinister and ghostly plays, which is what Gothic literature seeks to conjure.

The next Art-houses to be created will be based on 19th Century Gothic writers such as; Mary Shelley, Edgar Allan Poe, Bram Stoker, HP Lovecraft and more. 

Each house will represent a scene from the novel and will also contain handmade pieces of jewellery that tie in with the house theme. As well as each house being designed and created by me, the jewellery that will feature in the house will also be made available to be purchased separately.
